KARACHI: Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) and Karachi Bar Association (KBA) have announced to observe a black day on May 12 and will hold condolence meetings in memory of the martyrs of May 12, 2007. According to SHCBA Honorary Secretary Shaikh Munir-ur-Rahman, the decision to observe a black day was taken at a meeting of the managing committee held on May 6. The meeting resolved unanimously that all members and advocates should abstain from court work and should also wear black armbands. Black flags will be hoisted atop the premises of the bar associations. Meanwhile, KBA also announced that it would mark May 12 as a black day and a meeting would be held. The meeting is likely to be attended and addressed by leaders of different political parties who lost their workers on May 12, 2007 when the then non-functional Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry came to Karachi.
