LAHORE: The Punjab Bar Council (PBC) has called for a full day boycott of court proceedings throughout the province on January 24, the day the All Pakistan Lawyers’ Convention is being held.

PBC Vice-Chairman Aslam Sindhu said all lawyers would attend the convention where sacked chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry would address them. He appealed to the lawyers to attend the convention and help in making a strategy to accelerate the movement for the restoration of the judiciary.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Advocate Khawaja Mahmood Ahmed said the lawyers would lead the chief justice from the Lahore Airport in a procession. He said PML-N lawyers would also participate in the March 9 long march towards Islamabad, adding that the lawyers would continue their movement until the restoration of all the sacked judges.
