LAHORE: Lawyers, political activists and civil society members are ready to give a red carpet welcome to sacked chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry at the All Pakistan Lawyers Convention on Saturday (today).
The Punjab government has announced Justice Chaudhry will be provided the protocol of the chief justice, who will be driven from the airport to the venue on Fane Road. Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Ali Ahmad Kurd, Punjab Bar Council (PbBC) Vice President Muhammad Aslam Sindhu, former SCBA president Aitzaz Ahsan, Pakistan Bar Council members, Hamid Khan and Hafiz Abdul Rahman Ansari, LHCBA President Anwar Kamal and Secretary Rana Asadullah Khan, would receive Justice Chaudhry. Lahore Bar Association President Rana Zia Abdul Rehman said that a procession of buses and motorcycles in his leadership would also proceed to the airport to welcome Justice Chaudhry.
