Nandipur project case: SC summons investigation report.

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) has summoned the report of investigation team over Nandipur project from attorney general.
A three-member bench of apex court, headed by chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the Nandipur project case on Monday.

During the course of proceeding, former law minister Babar Awan said that the report of Rahmat Hussain Jafri over this project was accurate, adding that Khawaja Asif will also have to resign since he was the minister.
The report pointed out a corruption of 15 billion rupees in Nandipur project while names of three ministers have also been revealed.

The chief justice remarked that the court has to ascertain all those responsible for delay in the project. The court ordered the attorney general to notify the bench with latest development in the investigation and adjourned the hearing for three weeks.
On the other hand, PM Nawaz also ordered to investigate the increase in the estimated cost of Nandipur power project on Sunday.

In a statement issued from Lahore, the Premier had directed the federal Secretary Planning Division to present the report of the investigation’s findings in three days.
PM Sharif had ordered investigation into all the aspects that led to the increase in the project’s cost followed by submission of its report.
