KARACHI: A meeting of the National Coordination Council (NCC) of lawyers will be held on Monday to discuss future strategy for the ongoing protest movement at the consultancy room of the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA), SHCBA President Justice (Retd) Rasheed A Razvi told Daily Times on Saturday.

He said that most central leaders, including Supreme Court Bar Association President Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, Munir A. Malik, Ali Ahmed Kurd, LHCBA President Anwar Kamal, Asmatullah Khan, Hamid Khan and others, will attend the meeting. The meeting will be followed by a press conference at 5 p.m. to inform the media, public and the lawyers of decisions taken.

The meeting is most likely to be aimed at discussing the scenario after the majority of the judges deposed on November 3, 2007 have taken fresh oaths, leaving barely over a dozen judges still deposed, including Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
