PESHAWAR: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry reached the city Sunday evening to hear cases at the Supreme Court Registry in Peshawar.
He will preside over a division bench along with Justice Chaudhry Ijaz Ahmad from today till Friday. Besides, two other two-member benches would also hear cases, according to the official website of the Supreme Court.
The second bench comprises Justice Nasirul Mulk and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain while the third bench has Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmad and Justice Jawwad S Khwaja.The Supreme Court clearly stated in the cause-list that no application for adjournment through fax would be placed before the court. “If the counsel is unable to appear for any reason the advocate-on-record will be required to argue the case,” the cause-list said and added that no adjournment on any ground would be granted.
