Bench, Bar should strive to eradicate corruption: CJP.

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that bench and bar should strive to eradicate the corruption from judiciary.He said this while addressing the delegations of Sahiwal bar Association, Poplan Bar Association, Jahania Bar Association and Mansehra Bar Association which called on Chief Justice at Supreme Court building.
Chief Justice said that a huge responsibility has been cast on the shoulders of legal fraternity to standby the supremacy of constitution and rule of law and he also appreciated the struggles and cooperation of members of bar to stand firmly on the principle of independence of judiciary.
He emphasized the lawyers to be honest and sincere towards their profession and should pay more attention towards cases and avoid seeking adjournments so that cases may be decided quickly and expeditious and inexpensive justice may be provided at the doorsteps of litigant parties.
The delegation praised the efforts and struggles of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry for enhancing the public confidence in judiciary.
The members of Bars also assured of their full support and cooperation to bring about improvements in the dispensation of justice.
The delegations extended their invitation to Chief Justice to visit Bar Associations. Chief Justice accepted their invitations and assured them that he will visit the Bars soon.
