Islamabad: Lawyers of the Islamabad Bar Association here on Thursday observed the death anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and boycotted court proceedings in connection with restoration of deposed judges.

Lawyers urged the government to fulfil its promises and restore all deposed judges, including Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

Islamabad Bar Association General Secretary Riasat Ali Azad said that lawyers would continue their struggle till the restoration of all deposed judges.

He said that lawyers want unconditional restoration of the deposed chief justice, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, and would not accept ‘minus one formula’ for the restoration of deposed judges.

Riasat said that Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah struggled for the creation of Pakistan and now lawyers in Pakistan were struggling for free judiciary. He said that no matter if all deposed judges take oath this would not affect the lawyers’ movement. Lawyers would not stop their struggle till the restoration of all deposed judges, he said.
