CJ urges lawyers to show long-march like spirit for justice delivery.

KARACHI: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry Saturday called upon the lawyers to work in long-march like spirit for dispensation of justice to the people at their doorstep.

He was talking to a delegation of lawyers, headed by Supreme Court Bar Association President Qazi Muhammad Anwar, President Sindh High Court Bar Association Rashid A. Rizvi and President Karachi Bar Association Mehmood-ul-Hasan here at Supreme Court Karachi Registry.
The CJP told the delegation that Access to Justice Programme is going on under Federal Law Ministry and that judiciary and Law Commission are only assisting in this project. He, however, said that positive suggestion of lawyers in connection with utilization of the programme’s funds will be given consideration.

The delegation briefed Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaundry about the problems of courts particularly those related to the shortage of judges. On this, the CJP assured the delegation that induction of new judges will be undertaken soon.
