RAWALPINDI, Mar 8 (APP): President of the Supreme Court Bar Association Barrister Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan visited several markets in Rawalpindi on Saturday, telling traders and people a strong judiciary was vital for a powerful parliament.

During the visit, he said the lawyers would carry on their movement for the restoration of the deposed judges.

The SCBA president went round Bohar Bazar, Urdu Bazar, Jama Masjid road, Moti Bazrar and Raja Bazar.

Besides PML-N MNA-elect Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, lawyers including Sardar Asmat Ullah Khan, Siddique Awan, President and Secretary General of Rawalpindi High Court Bar Association respectively, President Peoples Traders association Naveed Qamar, and others accompanied Aitzaz Ahsan.

The people from various walks of life showered flower petals and in the Sarrafa Bazar a gold crown was presented to him by the Jeweler community.

The SCBA president reiterated his view that around 60 deposed judges could be restored through an executive order without involving the parliament.

He said those talking of two-third majority in the parliament in this regard were wrong.

Aitzaz Ahsan said a planned long march by lawyers had been postponed for temporarily so as to avoid pressure on the new parliament and if the new government did not restore the pre-emergency judiciary through an executive order then lawyers would converge on Islamabad from all over the country.
